ProDomme : You?
» Female Domination
Sigh …
There are professional male dominants and professional submissive persons. But they are uncommon. Because of the funny - even if it isn’t exactly humorous - way our society works most professional dominants are female.
You’ve probably at least wondered what it would be like to be a ProDomme. But have you ever given the possibility serious consideration?
Good:
- Money
- Lots of play
- Plenty of submissive men
Not so:
- No 401k
- Having to do it when you’d rather not
- Submissive men you wish you never met
If you are a professional dominatrix: why did you decide to pursue it as a career?
If you pondered it but decided to keep your sex life strictly personal and informal: what made you decide that sex work was not the profession for you?
Comments
I have a lot of reasons not to become a pro dom, including that my looks would be a hindrance; I’m not very organized or self-starting; it’s a fuckload of work when you include having to promote yourself (I have a pro dom friend so I have a sense of this); and I hate dressing up.
I’d probably make less money than now, ultimately, and have less job security, more danger, and a harder life.
Having to pull of scenes with strange men is, in a weird way, the least of it.

A few years ago, I thought about pursuing a career as a prodom. At the time I thought I wasn’t “hot” enough. Now, I wouldn’t do it because of my loathing for the stereotypes it perpetuates and embodies, and because I don’t know if I could even bring myself to do the kind of play the clients seem to want. I wouldn’t like the kind of person it would turn me into, I think.
