Blogs and Blogging
» Fetish Meme

Years ago - now it seems like lifetimes - I started my first blog. It was pretty darn dull. Mostly a record of my CD addiction and the music I was compulsively buying. I’d already created a small website that was sort of a ten or so page personal ad: something to refer people who responded to my assorted profiles and personal ads around the web. So I decided to blog about the search. (Eventually I would have three: vanilla, kink bottom, kink top).
The best thing about the early blog was the online friends and acquaintance I made. Finding a lover I let the blog lapse. A few months later I started blogging about the relationship. Slowly the scope expanded.
Now I blog an awful lot, perhaps too much.
What do I get out of blogging about my sexuality?
Getting to know some nice folks - some of them very remarkable people - has been a continuing reward.
An ongoing delight is that in writing about my past I’ve come to recall much that I’d forgotten.
And in writing I slowly discover the truth about many things. Or at least new editions of personal truths. Some of those are rejected or refined: it appears to be a perpetual process.
If you have a blog - an online journal or diary - how has it been for you?
- Fun
- Tedious
- Can’t think of anything to say (one of the purposes of this site is to help you)
Do you?
- Keep it fresh with frequent new entries
- Write erratically or rarely
- Have really let the blog lapse
Do you feel that you’ve?
- Benefited
- Wasted your time
- Made yourself vulnerable
- Broadened your social circle
- Learned about yourself
Does blogging leave you feeling?
- Exposed
- Violated
- Secure and safe
If you’ve wanted to start a blog but haven’t:
- Feel too lazy
- Don’t want the exposure
- Lack of time
- Feel you have nothing worth saying
- Others intimidate you because they seem so good at it
Do you wish you used a different blogging platform?
Do you wish you had, plan to get your own domain (or already have that)?
What goals do you have for your blog?
What do you enjoy about the blogs you read?
- Intimate sharing
- Expertise shared
- The pictures
