Sub, Slave or ... ?
» For Bottoms
I should preface this by noting that I’ve never been comfortable with the assumption that slave or submissive person is as easy a distinction as it is often made out to be in the land of BDSM forums.
Tops are often very, very demanding of their submissive partner. And a slave can always say no by withdrawing consent. The two terms perhaps reflect more self-perception than anything else.
Which raises the question of how the bottom wants, needs to be addressed both directly and indirectly. Do you see yourself being called:
- Pet
- Nickname
- Real Name
- Scum
- Slave
- Slut
- Sub
- Some Obscenity
Of course the appropriate word can vary with the situation.
In your mind what do you imagine yourself being called? What designation?

Slave is always sexy.
Nasty words in the right scene.
A pet nickname could be fun.
If I’m happy to kneel before someone I’m sure I’d be content with her or his choice.

Girl, pet, sub… anything proceeded by “My”…
When I noticed that my former Dom had stopped calling me His pet, it almost broke my heart. I never understood why the change occured, because the relationship went along fine for another couple of years. But I remember feeling so crushed when I noticed it. From the right person, words can mean a lot!

I am called beauty by Amo and he uses that name both in our D/s interactions and vanilla. My friends and family think it’s cute and it’s both of a thrill to us that he can use my D/s name publically.
When I top or dom somone I rather they use my name Simply saying my name Carmen or Mz. Carmen if they want more formality is what I prefer for the same reasons to be able to use it in that context outside of the D/s relationship.
